Why a Portrait Party?
How does a Portrait Party work?
Party Gallery
While a well-lit studio portrait certainly has its place in every home, there is no comparison to a well captured moment of your child naturally enjoying life. Your baby laughing as he plays in the grass or waddling through the sand is a keepsake you’ll want to frame and display for years to come.
Parties are booked by a host/hostess with a minimum of 5 children and no more than 15. Parties work very much like a playdate. A location is chosen and the children and parents gather and actively socialize. This could be on a playground, on the beach or simply somebody’s backyard. If undesirable weather occurs, things can be moved inside provided there is sufficient lighting. The best thing about portrait parties is one child is never singled out and made to “perform” as in a studio picture. There is no expectation or bright lights and someone saying, “smile” every 3 seconds. I can capture each child as moments occur…they often don’t even notice.
Then what?
After the party, in a day or two all the pictures from the party will be displayed on a website (or emailed to the host) and each participant will be able to view all the pictures and decide if they want to purchase prints. If you feel they just aren’t worthy this time around, you simply don’t purchase them.
What does it cost?
The sitting fee is simply $10 per child with a minimum of 5.
How much time is spent depends mainly on the time it takes to get good shots of each child. Sometimes a child will become upset or incredibly shy and visibly not want his/her picture taken. If this is the case, you may be given a pass to attend/host another party.
