What is a Portrait Party?
Parties are booked by a host/hostess with a minimum of 5 children and no more than 15. Parties work very much like a playdate. A location is chosen and the children and parents gather and actively socialize. This could be on a playground, on the beach or simply somebody’s backyard. If undesirable weather occurs, things can be moved inside provided there is sufficient lighting. The best thing about portrait parties is there much less pressure for a child to “perform”. There is no expectation or bright lights and changing backgrounds. I can capture each child as moments occur…they often don’t even notice. Older children tend to warm up to it very quickly and enjoy “modeling” for the camera.
After the party, within about a week , all the pictures from the party will be displayed on a website (or emailed to the host) and each participant will be able to view all the pictures and decide if they want to purchase prints. If you feel they just aren’t worthy this time around, you simply don’t purchase them.
The sitting fee is simply $10 per child with a minimum of 5.
How much time is spent depends mainly on the time it takes to get good shots of each child. This can be anywhere from 60-90 minutes. Sometimes a child will become upset or incredibly shy and visibly not want his/her picture taken. If this is the case, you may be given a pass to attend/host another party.
